Baby weekend...

Yesterday, Eric and I had ALL DAY baby class from 9-4. It was a long day, but we learned a lot and feel a little more prepared for the big day. We watched a lot of video clips and was shown a lot of the "stuff" that will see/use in the hospital, and learned about the stages of labor, contractions, epidurals (yes, please!), and c-sections. Eric mostly paid attention to "how to get to the maternity unit when your wife is in labor" (he took notes on that part!) We also did some breathing techniques, and I realize my lung capacity at the moment is NOT good. Between a 5 pound baby sitting on my lungs and this nasty sinus cold, I barely could breathe through a 30 second contraction! So, lets hope I can get better at that! After class, we did a test drive to figure out where we will have to go and what door to go into when it all happens for real! Eric thinks he's got it all figured out, and that's good, because I will be of no help directing him anywhere-- not that I would be of help anyways because I'm so directionally challenge, but I will probably have my mind on other things....

After class, we went to Baby's R Us to pick up some things we still needed. We got our stroller/car seat (because I had a 20% off coupon!) and Eric got it put together today, and we played with it a little bit so we kind of know what we're doing. :)

We got the same car seat as Rebecca and Grant, so they are letting us use their extra base since Lily is in a bigger car seat now! It will be very nice to have 2 bases to have one in the car and one in the truck! They are getting installed this week by Daddy. :)

We also got a cover for the changing table, and a Bundle Me cover for the car seat. Then we ran to Target to return a swing we had gotten that we wanted in a different pattern, but they didn't have it, so we'll have to keep checking around.

I also had my 35 week appointment this past Tuesday. Everything was good-- heart rate was back up in the 150's and my blood pressure was perfect. I gained another 3 pounds. The Dr told us the baby's head is down, so that is good, so lets hope she stays that way. I go again next Friday, and I will go weekly from then until I deliver!

36 weeks this Wednesday..............crazy!!! :)
